Charles Henry Bukoswki

1920 - 1994

Is an American author born in Germany in 1920.

He had many pseudonyms : Hank,Buk, Henry Chinaski, this last one was his alter-ego in it's many autobiographical novels.

Bukowski's writing was heavily influenced by the geography and atmosphere of his home city of L.A. , and is marked by the emphasis on the ordinary lives of marginalized poor american whites, the act of writing, alcohol, relationships with women, the drudgery of work and horseracing.

Prolific author he wrote thousands of poems, hundreds of short stories & six novels, eventually having 110 books in print. He is often remembered as "The Poet Laureate of Skid Row"
